How does it affect speaker placement when a speaker is front-ported? editShould it be further from the listening position because the port itself has a sound? Is it affected at all by the closeness of any walls in the listening room?

The Port is a source of energy and has an effect on room acoustics.
Generally a front ported Loudspeaker can be placed closer to a Rear Wall for Placement. edit comment
