An interesting piece that I dug out of the closet. A top of the line portable when it was new, my guess is that this is about 12 years old and it's in remarkably good shape considering it's age. As for the sound, well, headphone amps have come a long way in the last decade. It's not bad by any means, but by all the usual head-fi measures -- detail, soundstage, etc -- it has been eclipsed by modern designs. That said, it is awfully fun and would be a nice piece for a collector or a beginner. The battery pack is long gone but I'm happy to throw in a 6v DC wall plug. Happy to answer any questions and thanks for looking!

One headroom airhead amp ,about 5 years old but hardy used at all, there is a piece of Velcro attached to the back, also have a black headroom bag if interested for extra $10The AirHead is simply the sweetest portable headphone amp a little money can buy. Put one between your portable player and quality headphones, and presto! The space between your ears becomes your own private listening room. The AirHead isolates your player from the complex load of the headphones while driving them with the authority and finesse of quality power amplification. The result? Exquisite audio right between your ears. How does the AirHead do it? First HeadRoom had listening tests to find the best in a bunch of specially designed op-amps that work well directly off batteries. Then HeadRoom mate its output to a wonderfully power hungry, discrete transistor output amplifier to drive the headphones. (Not to worry, it still gets 40 hours on a set of batteries with most headphones.) In the process, so to speak, HeadRoom also included a special circuit you can switch on that makes headphones more natural sounding. What you end up with is eye-blinkingly tight bass and drums; snappy cymbals, well located in space without harshness; and a liquid-smooth yet neutral midrange. Controlling your AirHead as it takes control of your headphones is a piece of cake. To the extreme left and right in the corners are the headphone jacks; they are in parallel so you can use either or both. The switch on the left is the on-off switch. Next to it is the power on LED. The lovely cozy nook in the middle surrounds the volume control. To the right of the volume control is the clip LED. When it starts to blink, you change the batteries. Next is the processor switch - that's the one that turns on the circuit to make headphone audio more natural. To the left rear of the AirHead is its power plug; it'll take anything from 5 to 12 VDC center pin positive, both regulated and unregulated supplies are optionally available.

For Sale: Headroom Micro Amp. This is the earlier model that can run on either two 9 volt batteries (not included) or the included brick power supply. I bought it as part of a Headroom package (with the Desktop PS and Micro DAC) from another Head Fi-er last winter and I have the later model, so I don't need this one. The difference in sound quality between the two is small however and the latter doesn't have the battery/portability capability of this unit (which I don't need). $75 including Paypal, plus shipping. Prefer to use Priority Mail (but will accommodate if there is another preference), and it will fit into a medium flat rate box, so it'll be $13. I have an all positive rating of 384 on A'gon. under 'rpf'. Bump Still for sale?

**I am leaving this open to all reasonable offers. I need to get rid of this ASAP** *Depending on the offer, I may throw in the shipping!!* I am selling my well loved HeadRoom Desktop Amp that was purchased in June 2010. I will be selling with original packaging, and documentation (as shown in photos). I willbe including the Astrodyne power supply(I will also be including the regular power supply, as this was how I received the original order). I originally paid $800 USD for the Amp + Astrodyne, as I purchased them with a 20% discount received from HeadRoom at CANJAM 2010. Amp is in mint condition, and only has about 100 hours on it. It was never a reasonable purchase for me because I need a more mobile rig, and thus the reason I am finally listing my well loved Amp. There are few more pictures I believe I am asking a very fair price, but I will be open to offers. If you are interested in this listing but not in the North America region please PM and we may be able to make a deal. :) I am located in Alberta, Canada! Price reduced to $550! Price reduced to $470 from $600 Doesn't this amp have a DAC? Do you have thes pecs you can send me? They have nothing on their site so I imagine they are out of the amp business... Sending PM! No reasonable offer will be refused. I need this gone!! SALE PENDING!

Price reduced! I am going to list this under amplification as well as source components, since this is both. Offered for sale are all three HeadRoom components making up what is known as the 'Triple Stack'. These are the Balanced Ultra Desktop Amp (BUDA), the Ultra Desktop DAC (UDAC), and the Desktop Power Supply (DPS). I am the second owner of all three components. I do not have any records detailing which generation of each of these components are, but I believe the amp and dac are the newest generation, the power supply is one generation earlier. Images of the serial numbers and/or date stamps are included. Serial number for the BUDA is 101207255003. Serial number for the UDAC is 031411260003. DPS does not have a serial number, only a date stamp of 2/13/08. All three are in perfect condition, no scratches or blemishes, and the set sounds awesome. I know I will come to regret this sale one day, but I'm getting ready to move and downsize, so I need to thin the herd of audio gear. I used the triple stack as a desktop rig, I had a Squeezebox Touch feeding it and my LCD-3's sound absolutely awesome through it. Included with this purchase are the DiMarzio XLR interconnects, as well as the two DC cords that go from the DPS to the BUDA and UDAC. I am also including two of the Astrodyne power supplies for added flexibility (take the amp on the go with a more transportable power supply, for example). This was the top of the line gear at the point where Headroom stop marketing their own amps, however Headroom continues to service their gear if any problems should arise. The original retail price of the Triple Stack if you bought all three pieces combined was $3300. Purchased separately they cost more than that. I know when Headroom stopped manufacturing gear they offered the stack at a discounted price of $2300. I am offering the package for $1700. I'm not sure yet how this will ship. It's three boxes, I will need to price whether it's cheaper to pack the three boxes into a
